Insurance & Fault Setup

Add the insurance information you have and pick the fault situation that fits best. You can change any of this later.

ClaimHaus AI is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice, insurance advice, settlement valuation, or claim negotiation. Fault status here only helps organize your roadmap — ClaimHaus does not decide fault.

Which insurance claim do I need?

Accidents can involve more than one claim. Here's what each lane usually covers so you know where your documents go.

Your Insurance

Your own insurance company. You may need to notify them about the accident. Your own policy may help with collision damage, rental, towing, medical payments (MedPay), or uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage — depending on what you purchased.

  • Have you notified your insurance company?
  • Do you have a claim number?
  • Do you have collision coverage?
  • Do you have rental coverage?
  • Do you have towing coverage?
  • Do you have MedPay?
  • Do you have uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage?
  • Did your insurance ask for documents?

Other Driver's Insurance

The other driver's insurance company. If the other driver appears to be at fault, their insurance may review claims for bodily injury, vehicle damage, rental reimbursement, and other accident-related losses.

  • Do you have the other driver's insurance company?
  • Do you have their policy number?
  • Do you have their claim number?
  • Do you have the adjuster's name?
  • Did they request documents?
  • Did they make an offer?
  • Did they send a release form?

Attorney Review

Some claims are too serious or complicated for self-help claim prep. ClaimHaus can still organize your file, but attorney review may be appropriate.

  • Fault is disputed
  • Serious injury
  • Surgery
  • Broken bones
  • Concussion or brain injury symptoms
  • Minor injured
  • Commercial truck involved
  • Government vehicle/entity involved
  • Insurance denied the claim
  • Uninsured/underinsured issue
  • Settlement release received
  • Court papers or lawsuit
  • Medicare, Medi-Cal, Medicaid, or other government benefits involved
  • You don't understand what you're being asked to sign

Bodily Injury Claim

Injury-related claim materials such as medical treatment, symptoms, bills, missed work, and life impact. If another driver caused the accident, this is often reviewed by the other driver's insurance company. Your own coverage may also matter if MedPay or uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage applies.

Property Damage Claim

Vehicle repair, total loss, rental car, towing, storage, and damage photos. This may go through your insurance, the other driver's insurance, or both — depending on coverage and the situation.

MedPay

Medical payments coverage, if included in your policy, may help pay accident-related medical bills regardless of who was at fault. ClaimHaus cannot determine your coverage. Check your policy or contact your insurance company.

Uninsured / Underinsured Motorist

May apply if the other driver has no insurance or not enough insurance. These claims can be complicated, so attorney review may be appropriate.
